When my grandpa was a boy, and went to the cinema, before the main feature, he would get news bulletins, a cartoon, and a 'to be continued' serial. These days very few films have these additional features. The only time I see them is for Disney/Pixar films when they also show one of their shorts. Do you like seeing shorts before the main film starts, or do you wish they would just get on with showing what you came to watch?
If you do like them, how many would you ideally like? Would you like things to go back to how it was generations before, with lots of different things? Do you think more films should show shorts?
I love the shorts! Strongly dislike the ads, but the shorts not only are fun to watch for themselves, they give you an idea as to whether you'll like the movie you're in. My theory is the shorts are meant to appeal to the same people that the movie is going to appeal to, so if I don't want to go see ANY of the shorts films, I start to worry :)
I like the previews when I go to the movies, and am glad they cut out a short news article or whatever before the main film.
I think, with people so busy nowadays, if you go to see a film, I do not want to see a short film, however I do enjoy the trailers of movies on at the moment, or movies to be released as it gives me a good idea of whether I will like these films or not.
I love seeing film shorts before the main feature, and I wish more movies showed them. I wouldn't like a serial though because that would require going to the cinema regularly, and knowing which film the continuation is on. With the amount of adverts we get, showing a lot of shorts would eat up into even more tim, so just one would do.
