The Danish Girl was released On New Year's Day and stars Eddie Redmayne as the first woman to undergo a sex change in the 1920s. It has had several BAFTA nominations. What do you think about it?
This is the first I've heard of the film, the premise sounds interesting though. I can't imagine the stigma that would have surrounded a sex change in that era.
I think it is a fantastic dil. The acting is incredible, and it is told very viscerally. It shows what true love really is - when your willing to sacrifice your own happiness to give someone else the chance to be happy. They did skew the truth of the ending a bit, but otherwise it was great. I wrote a review if you're interested: http://www.weekendnotes.com/the-danish-girl-film-review/
