Would Denzel Washington make a good James Bond?

Okay, so you’re probably wondering where that idea came from. The role of Bond is typically played for Caucasian British guys, so why Denzel? Well, someone thought it would be a good idea, and asked if he would be interested in the role during a Reddit AMA and Denzel seemed to love the idea. What do you think? Would Denzel make a good Bond?

I've nothing against a black Bond, but somehow I just can't see Denzel Washington in the role. He doesn't fit for me.
I think it is because he is American. Bond should be British.
I would agree with Bryony -I think James Bond needs to be English and not American!

Denzel Washing is a great actor however I do not think he is right as a James Bond.

I think he would make a great Bond. To me, neither the accent nor the skin colour make the man but his demeanor does. Bond is supposed to be suave, smart and he is always supposed to keep his cool. I think Denzel Washington could pull all of that off swimmingly.
