It seems there are a lot of movies being released right now that are fictional stories about people who play music. There’s Begin Again, starring Mark Ruffalo and Kiera Knightley, which is currently touring theatres around the world and then there are two more – The Song and Rudderless - hitting theatres this fall. These kind of movies are often inspirational, funny, full of fun but they can also be repetitive as the story rarely deviates from the ‘lowly musician gets a big break’ formula.
