Kick-Ass is a super-violent superhero movie series based on the comics of the same name. The series has had two installments thus far and according to Kick-Ass star Chloë Grace Moretz, there will likely not be another.



According to Moretz, it all has to do with pirating and theatre seats. She believes high piracy rates contributed to poor theatre turnouts, which translated into poor returns on Kick-Ass 2. However the film did come in 31 million over budget, if the figures on Wikipedia are to be believed. The film scores pretty low on Rotten Tomatoes, a mere 28% on the tomatometer, audience votes were more favourable with 59%. Both the financial numbers and the Rotten Tomato scores are far cry from the number garnered by the original film.
